The standard amount of a deposit is 1 months rent and is payed directly to the property owner. However, sometimes, if the property is freshly refurbished with all new interior, it can be in the amount up to 2 months. By the time the rental term comes to an end, the property owner checks if everything is in the same condition as how it was handed over to the tenant. If the property is returned in the same condition, the owner returns the deposit. And if the last bill for utility service hasn't been payed yet, the owner will subtract an estimated amount from the deposit.
